How a smart mobile solution increases productivity

The Facilities Department of the bPost Group had been using ARCHIBUS for almost 5 years when a new project was announced. The new Web Central applications had to seamlessly replace the existing client/server technology. The system already contained a building inventory with more than 2200 buildings and had hundreds of users.
Additionally, we were requested to implement the Service Desk and On Demand Work with a mobile application for a Motorola device running Windows Mobile.
All the requests and work orders for service and maintenance interventions are management by the ARCHIBUS applications. The PROCOS Group engineers managed to develop a ‘nearline’ application that updates the information every time the mobile connection is restored. This way, the technical field engineers and service operators of the Facilities Department can still connect to the dispatchers with their mobile devices. Even while working in technical rooms and basements without mobile connection.
The PROCOS Group team was also in charge of the training of the 300 field engineers and service operators all over the country.
The software now runs on Windows 7 (64bit) enabling new applications while staying as close as possible to the standard product. Our solution greatly improved the procedures to manage the technical maintenance team, resulting in better response time and increased productivity.
